Scope of our Privacy Policy

At Tryp Limited we value the privacy of our customers who visit and use our application, website, and services. This privacy policy basically explains how we collect, use, and share information gathered from Tryp users/riders.

Information We May Collect From You and Ways in which the data is Processed

Tryp is all about connecting Drivers and Riders. To do this, we need to know where you are. When you open Tryp on your mobile device, we receive your location. We may also collect the precise location of your device when the app is running in the foreground or background. If you tag certain locations, such as “home” and “work,” we receive that information, too.

Your location information is necessary for things like pairing Riders with nearby Drivers, determining drop off and pick up locations. In addition to the reasons described above, Drivers’ location information and distance travelled is necessary for calculating charges for Tryp rides. If you give us permission through your device settings or Tryp app, we may collect your location while the app is off to identify promotions or service updates in your area.

Information that you provide when registering and signing up for a Tryp account e.g. name, phone number and email address, is collected and if you sign up for Tryp using any of your social media account, we will also get basic information from your registered account like your name, profile picture, gender and also additional information like your social media friends.

We collate information that you provide to us on our website (www.tryp.com.ng) or to any of our agent over the phone or on our mobile application this includes information provided at the time of making bookings for our services or for any other reason e.g. to lay a complaint or report a problem with our application or site.

Please note that if you contact us directly, we may keep a record of that correspondence. If you contact us by telephone, and speak with our Customer care staff, your telephone call may be recorded and information about you will be requested e.g. your name, location, email address telephone number and any other information you choose to provide.

Transaction details carried out through our site or app and the completion of your bookings are also collected. Upon adding a debit card or payment method to your Tryp account, a third party that processes payment on our behalf will receive your information. In order to keep your financial information secure, we do not keep full debit card information on our servers. Please note that though we are totally committed to protecting the information of our users and we take reasonable precautions, no security measure can be totally infallible thus we cannot guarantee the security of your data.
